Abstract

The total workforce in August 2021 was 143.92 thousand people, an increase of 4.27 thousand people compared to August 2020. In line with the increase in the number of workers, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased to 56.86 percent.

The August 2021 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 10.78 percent, down 1.39 percentage points compared to August 2020.

The working population is 128.40 thousand people, an increase of 5.74 thousand people from August 2020.

The sector with the largest contribution was the service sector at 70.90 percent, followed by manufacturing 24.84 percent and around 4.26 percent from the agricultural sector.

A total of 68.17,000 people (53.10 percent) work in formal activities, down 3.21 percentage points compared to August 2020.

There are 2.84 thousand unemployed people due to Covid-19; 1.42 thousand Non-Work Forces (BAK) due to Covid-19; 2.19 thousand people temporarily out of work due to Covid-19; and 28.87 thousand working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to Covid-19.
